Privacy

Scalezu collects no personal data. There are no accounts, no servers, no advertising and no analytics. The app contains no networking code, so nothing you enter is sent to us or anyone else.

Scalezu is published by Stack & Stone Limited.

What the app stores

To work, Scalezu keeps the following on your iPhone or iPad:

InformationWhere it is kept
Profile details: an optional name, age and height The device’s Keychain, set to this device only. It is never synced to iCloud and can only be read while the device is unlocked.
Weight history: each reading’s weight, date, time and source Files inside the app with full iOS data protection, excluded from iCloud and computer backups.
Apple Health sync status: which profile syncs and its sync position Files inside the app with full iOS data protection, excluded from backups.
Display settings, such as whether the BMI number is shown The app’s settings on the device.

Because this information is excluded from backups, it does not move to a new device or return after restoring from a backup. Weigh-ins in a profile synced with Apple Health are also stored in Apple Health.

Apple Health (optional)

If you connect Apple Health, Scalezu uses only the permissions you grant in iOS:

  • It reads height, weight and date of birth. Height and age can fill in a profile, and weight records join that profile’s history. Scalezu works out an age from the date of birth and keeps only the age.
  • It writes the weigh-ins you log in the synced profile, and changes or deletes only records it wrote itself.
  • Only one profile can sync at a time. Other profiles never read or write Apple Health.

Information from Apple Health is used only to provide these features. It is never used for advertising, marketing or data mining, never sold or shared, and never stored in iCloud by Scalezu. Data in Apple Health is handled by Apple under Apple’s Privacy Policy.

You can change Scalezu’s Health permissions at any time in the Health app. In Scalezu, Stop syncing with Apple Health, or deleting the synced profile, ends all of the app’s Health reads and writes. Your records stay in Apple Health.

No third parties

No advertising, analytics, crash-reporting or attribution SDKs. No Advertising Identifier (IDFA), no tracking prompt, no social login. Nothing is sold, shared or disclosed to anyone, because we hold nothing.

Permissions

Apple Health is the only permission Scalezu asks for, and only when you choose to connect it.

Keeping and deleting your information

  • Delete a weigh-in from the Weight tab. In the synced profile it is also removed from Apple Health if Scalezu wrote it.
  • Delete a profile in Edit profile. This removes its details and history from Scalezu, and keeps its Apple Health records.
  • Delete the app to remove its history files and settings. iOS can keep Keychain items after an app is deleted. They can be read only by Scalezu on that device, but to remove profile details completely, delete each profile before deleting the app.

Children

Scalezu is for adults and is not directed at children. Profiles accept ages 20 to 130.

Your rights

Under the UK GDPR and the EU GDPR you have rights over personal data a company holds about you. Stack & Stone Limited holds none about you, so there is nothing for us to disclose, correct, export or erase. You can view, change and delete everything Scalezu stores directly in the app. Data held in Apple Health is subject to your rights against Apple.

Not medical advice

Scalezu records and displays measurements. It does not provide medical advice, diagnosis or treatment.

Changes

Any update to this policy is published at this address with a new effective date.
